GEA’s major accomplishments include:

• Demonstrating - through tenant organizing initiatives and successful negotiations - how communities, renters, developers, affordable housing providers and the city can collaborate toward necessary infill redevelopment while integrating meaningful and real affordable housing opportunities.
  
  
• Significantly influencing the shape of the Municipal Development Plan by integrating food production and urban agriculture into how future land use decision will be made.
  
  
• Responding to seniors’ desire to stay in the homes by providing strong support for investment and expansion of a city sponsored Edmonton Seniors Home Supports Program. GEA continues to promote the program and inform seniors across the city about the resources the program provides and how they can receive its benefits.
